Please consider chairing or helping out with this program.  Unless a chairperson is found, the program will unfortunately be discontinued at our schools.
2010-2011 THEME:  "Together we can"

A great idea for getting ideas for participating in Reflections...Art for Kids School

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and a Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose for this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works, created around a specific theme. This year's theme is "Together we can".  You decide what the phrase means to you. You may print the Participation Rules and Entry Forms for each category that you are interested in.  This year all Dieringer School District grade levels are invited to participate - from part time Kindergarten through the 8th grade.

These are the different categories:

Finished entries should be turned into the main office at school, on or before TBD, by 3:15pm.  Be sure you have read the rules and comply with them, so that your entry is not disqualified.

All participants will receive a certificate, ribbon and be invited to the Reflections Celebration in January.  Prizes will also be awarded to the winners in each category, and then forwarded on to the State Reflections Program.  All participants will be recognized and artwork will be displayed.

Participation in music, visual arts and dance is linked to better performance in mathematics, science and creative thinking.  The arts nuture social skills and increase motivation to learn.  Artistic exploration promotes the ability to pay attention for longer periods of time.  In its 40 year history the National PTA's Reflections Program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art. Help your children see the potential they have with their talents!
