The program for this year will be much the same as last year.  Some of the key points are:

  • The school-wide goal for Dieringer Heights Elementary is 1,800,000 total minutes read.

  • Students in grades Pre-K to Pre-1st will receive a ribbon for every 500 minutes read up to 5000 total minutes. Students in 4th and 5th grades will receive a ribbon for every 1000 minutes read up to 5000 total minutes.  For all students, after 5000 minutes special prizes will be awarded at 6500, 8500 and 10,000 minutes.

  • Record your minutes on the R.A.H. Calendar sent home each month. (Additional calendars available to download from this site under the Reading at Home Program)

  • Total weekly and monthly minutes and record on Calendar

  • Parents must sign bottom of Calendar

  • Calendars are due back to the classroom by the 1st of the month

  • Each month, the top 4 readers for each grade level will have lunch with Mr. Anderson and have their picture taken with the RAH worm and Mr. Anderson to be displayed in the school hallway. 

  • Class Trophy – Each month the average minutes per student per class is computed.  The winning classes per grade receive the RAH Trophy for the month. 

RAH Lunch Dates - DHES

There are 2 dates due to the Red/Blue Kindergarten schedule.  All children attending school on the first date listed will enjoy lunch with Mr. Anderson on that day.  Children who attend school on the second date will join him for lunch on that day.
